We are very pleased to announce that the opening keynote this year will be Victoria Stodden of Columbia University and co-founder of RunMyCode, an "open platform for disseminating the code and data associated with published results, and enabling independent and public cloud-based verification of methods and findings."

Dr. Stodden is also the creator and curator of SparseLab, and serves on:

• The National Academies of Science Committee on "Responsible Science: Ensuring the Integrity of the Research Process"
• The American Statistical Association's "Committee on Privacy and Confidentiality"

With the holidays passed and the new year beginning, planning for Open Repositories 2013 is shifting into high gear. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our host site for OR2013, The Delta Prince Edward!

This year’s conference theme is Use, Reuse, Reproduce. One of the most important roles of repositories is to enable greater use and reuse of their contents— whether those contents are library collections, scholarly articles, research data, or software—and metadata. The notion of use and reuse can be extended to repository infrastructure as well.

If you are arriving early for OR2013 next July, you are in luck. The annual Cavendish Beach Music Festival is slated to be held just before the conference. The lineup of artists is still TBA, but last time around it included Rascal Flatts and Alabama, so if that tickles your fancy, add a few days to your trip and enjoy some music on the beach before you get down to conferencing.
